Customer Review: Quality for less.

We haven't had a toaster in our home for over 2 years. The toaster oven took too long to toast and seemed wasteful in the process, so I decided to purchase a toaster. After reading reviews on this Proctor-Silex, I went for it.
I was hopeful, but became doubtful when I examined the toaster. The wires that glow were thin (remember, I hadn't dealt with toasters for over 2 years--I remember the wires being not so thin), which seemed unusual, and, when I put in the first two slices of bread, the wires on the inside seemed not to glow as brightly as those on the outside, which didn't seem right or promising. However, when the toasted bread popped out, to my surprise the bread was EVENLY toasted. What more could one want out of a toaster? Subsequent tries all gave the same results--evenly toasted bread. The time taken to toast was good, but keep in mind that my comparison is to a toaster oven, which is slow.
The toasted bread does not pop too far out, but remains (almost) completely in the toaster, which keeps the toast warm a little longer if one isn't immediately present to remove the toast. One only needs to push the lever all the way up to lift the toast out and then manually remove it. For taller slices, this point may not be observed and thus be irrelevant.
The cancel button comes in handy when warm bread, not toast, is desired; to manually compensate for the sometimes inaccurate toaster setting; and during emergencies (one never knows!).
The crumb tray allows for convenient cleaning and maintenance.
All in all, for $13.99 (free shipping, no tax), this was absolutely an excellent purchase. Toast away!
