Customer Review: Great Oven Alternative

I purchased this oven from Amazon in August 2009 and haven't had any problems since. I researched for days before settling on this one and I haven't once regretted my decision. I use it on average three times a week to make toast, roast beans, cook side dishes/pizzas, and reheat food. I occasionally use it to bake things like cookies and croissants, and it works surprisingly well. The little tin pan that came with it has held up too, no dents or stains. The bottom tray which slides out has a stain from some burnt on grease, but that is barely noticeable when it's in the machine, and I could probably clean it with some E-Z-Off. I haven't even had to clean the outside of the thing really, just a wipe down to get the dust off every few months. It's pretty cool and looks like something out of The Jetsons.
The only thing that has "broken" is the bell. It used to "ding!" when you turned the dial off from the timer, but now it doesn't make any sound. No big deal. Also, if I were to nitpick, the sliding of the door is not very smooth anymore; but it still goes up and down with not much hassle, so again, no big deal. I'm not sure what's going on with the problems some of the other reviewers have been having, with the handle coming off and what-not. Everything is intact and in good condition with mine.
I'm a cheapskate when it comes to my electricity bill - which is why I bought this in the first place - so I carefully monitored my bill to see if there was an increase after regularly using it. I'm happy to say that there was no increase at all, and having not used my oven in a year, my energy costs are way down. I also unplug it when I'm not using it; maybe that helps too.
Overall, I think this is a great oven alternative for a single person or a couple. It may not be heavy duty enough for a large family, but it gets most any job done.
