Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Proctor Silex K2070H 1-Quart Automatic Electric Kettle, WhiteCustomer Review: Lovely little unit Summary: 4 StarsThis is a very nice product for the cost. I wish it kept the water hot once it turns off, because I tend to forget. But it heats up very nicely, fairly quickly, about 10 minutes, and shuts itself off. That's a key feature over potting a kettle on the stove - did I mention I tend to forget? When the water cools down too much, I turn it on again, and reheat it. This pot has convinced me that when it dies I'll be ready to pay more to get all the features I need. You can only get a good couple of cups of tea out of this at a time.
Customer Review: Electric Kettle Review Summary: 5 StarsExcellent product. Works as advertised with no problems at all. We purchased it for a friend who heated water in a steam kettle on the stove but due to hearing problems he could not hear the steam whistle. Worried about him having an empty kettle on a hot burner we decided to get him the automatic electric kettle. We have used one for years and found them to be excellent and safe.
Customer Review: Perfect for my cuppa Summary: 5 StarsI use this kettle at work. I make my big cuppa tea each morning and this kettle heats the water quickly and efficiently. It holds enough for my HUGE mug to make my tea and the amount left over gets reheated an hour later to make oatmeal. Perfect size. Perfect performance.
Customer Review: Not good for boiling again fast Summary: 2 StarsOne big problem with this model - let's say you boil water once and you want to boil more water a little while later, the kettle won't let you turn it on. It's almost like the sensor setting is set to be too sensitive. Otherwise, water boils quickly
Customer Review: We Own Two - They're Great! Summary: 5 StarsFirst - we too had an issue with a plastic odor.. We solved the problem easily. After following the inadequate instructions supplied with the kettle, let it cool and wash with mild dish soap. Rinse well; heat another pot of water; pour it out; unplug it; dry it; leave the lid up and let it sit overnight. This solved the odor in both kettles we have. These are obviously put into a plastic bag as soon as manufactured and the plastic odor has never had a chance to dissipate.
Second - there is little else to say. It heats water to a boil very quickly. It shuts off automatically as soon as it has done that. It's meant to do only that and it does it as well as we expected it to. The price is nice, too.
